Ingredients
1. Beet root grated ---- 1 cup
2. Bengal gram ---- 1 cup
3. Big onion ---- 1/4 cup finely chopped
4. ginger ---- 1/4 teaspoon
5. Red chillies ---- 3 nos
6. Aniseeds ---- 1 teaspoon
7. salt to taste
8. oil for frying
9. coriander leaves few chopped
10. curry leaves few chopped
preparation method
1. soak the bengal gram dhal for 1 hour. Then add ginger , red chillies , aniseeds , salt and grind into a coarse powder.
2. Then add the soaked bengal gram dhal to the mixture and make sure the water should be completely drained before adding or the batter will become watery.
3. Now add the grated beetroot and grind it for 1 minute then transfer it to a bowl.
4. Then add the chopped onions , coriander and curry leaves.
5. Now heat oil in a deep frying pan. take a lemon size ball & shape into small disc then deep fry in oil.
serve this yummy & tasty beet root vada hot .
tips
* Don"t add too much of water , if the batter is too watery then the vada won"t be crispy
