karepala kulambu


Ingredients

 karipala                                          ---- big size cubed 1/4 kg
 small onions                                  ---- 1/2 cup
 Tomato                                          ---- 1 no
 grinded  coconut paste                 ---- 4  tablespoons
 Red chilli powder                         ---- 1 1/2 teaspoon
 coriander powder                          ---- 2 tablespoons
 Turmeric powder                         ---- 1/4 teaspoon
  salt to taste
  cardamom/cinnamon/cloves        ---- each 1 piece
 oil                                               ---- 1 1/2 teaspoon
 curry leaves  few
 garlic                                          ---- 3 flaks ( chop )


preparation Method

Heat a pan  with 1/2 teaspoon of oil and fry the onions  and tomatoes till it  turns to golden brown colour  , then cool it and grind it to a fine paste  , and keep this aside.

Now heat a kadai with 1 teaspoon of oil and then add  cardamom, cloves,cinnamon , 1 tablespoon of chopped onions, chopped garlic and curry leaves  and sauté till golden brown.

 Then add the cubed karipala  and sauté for 5 to 6 minutes  in low flame.

 Then add salt to taste , chilli powder , coriander powder , turmeric powder , grinded onion tomato paste  and then add 2 to 3 cups of water and close the kadai with a lid  and   allow this to boil  for 15 minutes or till the karipala cooks  .

 Finally   add  the grinded coconut paste and allow  to boil  for 5 minutes  and then remove  from flame and transfer to a serving bowl.


serve this  for plain Rice  , chappaties , Rotis  , Idlies , dosa  of your choice
