Ingredients :
1. prawns ---- 200 grams
2. Big onions ---- 4 nos ( finely chopped )
3. green chillies ---- 8 nos ( finely chopped )
4. pepper powder ---- 1/4 teaspoon
5. lemon juice ---- 4 to 5 teaspoons
6. salt to taste
7. chopped coriander leaves ---- few
8. grated coconut ---- 4 tablespoons
9. oil ---- 3 teaspoons
10. mustard ---- 1/4 teaspoon
11. curry leaves ---- few
Preparation Method
1. Clean and wash the prawns , drain the water from it . Then heat a Iddly vessel , and steam the prawns for 5 mintues in the iddly plates.
2. Then by using the mixer jar , mince the boiled prawns. ( make sure there is no water , otherwise it may mashed.)
3. Heat a kadai and pour 3 teaspoons of oil to it , then add mustard , curry leaves , chopped onions , chopped green chillies , pepper powder , salt to taste , then add the minced prawns and stir this in a very low flame , approximately 15 mintues.
4. While stirring add little by little of the lemon juice , then finally add the grated coconut and stir for another 2 mintues.
5. Finally garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
You could'nt even hear about this prawns puttu ever before . This is my own trail recipe which I have cooked so many times . It appears like a vegetarian dish , but it tastes very good.
