Ingredients
1. Tomatoes ---- 4 nos
2. Roasted sesame seeds ---- 2 tablespoons
3. green chillies ---- 2 no
4. red chilli ---- 2 no
5. cumin seeds ---- 1/2 teaspoon
6. urad dhal ---- 1 1/2 teaspoon
7. tamarind ---- small bit
8. salt to taste
9. oil
10. mustard seeds ---- 1/2 teaspoon
11. Asofotida ---- 1 pinch
preparation method
1. Heat a pan with 1/2 teaspoon of oil and add cumin seeds , urad dhal , red chilli and saute till the dhal turns red and keep it aside.
2. In the same oil add the green chillies and saute for a minutes.then remove it and add sliced tomatoes and saute for 6 to 7 minutes , then add tamarind and saute for a minute, then let them all cool .
3. First grind the cumin dhal mixture along with sesame seeds and then add the cooled tomato , tamarind mixture , salt and grind to a paste.
4. Heat oil in a pan temper it with mustard , urad dhal , asofotida and curry leaves.
serve with any dosa or idli.
