ingredients
1. green chillies ---- 10 nos
2. Tamarind ---- 1 lemon size
3. Asofotida ---- 1/4 teaspoon
4. salt to taste
5. jaggery ---- 1 teaspoon
6. Gingerlly oil ---- 2 teaspoons
For seasoning
1. Gingerlly oil ---- 1 teaspoon
2. mustard ---- 1 teaspoon
3. Asofotida ---- 1/4 teaspoon
Preparation method
1. soak the tamarind in water for 15 minutes and extract the tamarind juice and keep it aside.
2. chop the green chillies .
3. Heat a pan with oil and add the chopped green chillies and fry for 2 minutes , then cool it and grind the chillies in the mixer to a fine paste and keep it aside.
4. Then heat a pan and pour the tamarind extract and add salt to taste, let this boil for 10 minutes.
5. Then add the ground paste and let the mixture boils and becomes a thick consistency.
6. while boiling add the jaggery which will reduce the sour and spice. Then switch off the flame.
7. In a separate pan , pour the oil and add the mustard seeds , when the mustard seeds begins to sputter add the hing and fry for some time and add these to the pulimilagai.
now the mouth watering pulimilagai is ready to serve with Idly , dosa and curd Rice
