Andhra Type Chicken Curry

Ingredients

1.   chicken                                           ---- 1/2kg
2.   onions big                                       ---- 2 nos ( chopped )
3.   ginger & garlic paste                       ---- 1/2 teaspoon
4.   green chillies                                   ---- 2 nos ( slit length wise )
5.   Tomato  puree                                ---- 1 cup
6.   Turmeric powder                           ---- 1/2 teaspoon
7.   Red chilli powder                           ---- 1 teaspoon
8.   coriander powder                          ---- 1/2 teaspoon
9.   jeera powder                                 ---- 1/4 teaspoon
10.  coconut milk                                 ---- 1 cup
11.  garam masala powder                   ---- 1/4 teaspoon
12.  curry leaves few
13.  salt to taste
14.  oil                                                 ---- 1 tablespoon

To  dry roast and make a paste:

1.   dry  red chillies                             ---- 4 nos
2.   poppy seeds                                ---- 1 teaspoon
3.   peanuts                                         ---- 1 handfull
4.   white sesame seeds                      ---- 1 teaspoon

Preparation  method

1.    Heat   oil  in a pan  and add  the  chopped  onions , garam masala powder  and  saute  the onions  till golden  brown,   then  add  the  green  chillies,  ginger & garlic   and saute  for 1 minute.

2.    Then  add  the  cleaned  &  washed  chicken  pieces  and  cook  on medium  flame  for  5 to 6 minutes.

3.    Then  add  turmeric powder ,  coriander powder ,  jeera powder ,  red chilli powder ,  salt to taste  and mix  well.

4.   Then  add the  ground  paste  and  tomato  puree  and water 1 cup   and   mix.  Reduce  heat  and cook  for  15 minutes.

5.   Then   add  the  coconut  milk  &  cook  for  few  minutes.   when  the gravy  is  thick  enough  then  put-off  the  flame.

Serve   this  with  white  Rice ,  Roti's ,  pulao  etc.
