Composition Of Amla
Amla is a gift of nature to mankind. The amla fruit contains more
than 80% of water . It also has protein , carbohydrate , fibre minerals
and vitamins . It also contains Gallic acid which is a potent polyphenol.
Ingredients :
1. Amla ---- 30 nos
2. sugar ---- 250 grams
3. ginger juice ---- 1/2 teaspoon
4. salt ---- 1 pinch
Preparation Method
1. Heat Iddly vessel , arrange amla in iddly plate and boil it for 5 mintues.
2. Then remove the seeds and cut into pieces.
3. Take a sauce pan add 1 cup of water and 250 grams of sugar and boil it , then add ginger juice and 1 pinch of salt and put off the flame and
add amla pieces to it.
4. Now let it be in sugar syrup for 2 to 3 days . mean while daily at the
day time dry them in sunlight.
5. After 3 to 4 days remove it from the syrup and dry them in sunlight
using a plastic sheet , like wise dry for a week and preserve it in
air tight containers and use this for months.
Here I dusted with corn flour to avoid the stickiness of sugar syrup.
