oats Idli

Ingredients

1..oats                                                                    ---- 1 cup
2..Broken  wheat  Rava                                          ---- 1/2 cup
3..oil                                                                      ---- 1 teaspoon
4..curd                                                                   ---- 1/2 cup
5..green  chillies                                                      ---- 4 no
6..ginger grated                                                      ---- 1/4 teaspoon
7..Eno fruit salt / cooking soda                               ---- 1/4 teaspoon
8..mustard seeds                                                   ---- 1/2 teaspoon
9..channa dhal                                                       ---- 1/2 teaspoon
10..urad dhal                                                          ---- 1/2 teaspoon
11..curry  leaves
12..salt to taste
13..grated carrots                                                  ---- 5 to 6 tablespoons

preparation  method

1..Roast  the  oats  for  3  to  4 minutes.  Then  cool  it  and  powder  this.

2..Roast  the  broken  wheat  for  2 minutes  in  a  medium  flame.

3..Heat  a  kadai  and  add  1/2 teaspoon   of  oil  and  add   mustard  seeds  ,  ginger ,  channa dhal  ,  urad  dhal ,  finely  chopped  green  chillies  ,  curry  leaves  &  coriander  leaves.  Then  switch  off  the  flame  and  add  the  grated  carrots.

4..Then  add  this  to  the  powdered  oats  and  wheat  mixture ,  then  add  the  curd ,  salt  and  mix  this  to  the  idli  batter  consistency.

5..Then  add  the  cooking  soda /  eno fruit  salt  to  this  and  grease  the  idli  plates.

6..Now  pour  this  oats  idli  batter  to  the  idli  plates  and  steam  this  for  10  to  12 minutes.

7..Insert  a  knife  to  check  wheather  it  is  done.

Now  take  out  from  the  moulds  and  enjoy  hot !
Serve  this  with  any  kara  chutney .
