sweet paniyaram is perfect for evening snack or even as a starter for dinner .
Ingredients
1. idly rice ---- 2 cups
2. urad dhal ---- 1/2 cup
3. fenugreek seeds ---- 1 teaspoon
4. jaggery ---- 1 1/2 cup
5. salt a pinch
6. cooking soda ( optional ) ---- a pinch
7. grated coconut ---- 1/4 cup
8. ghee / oil ---- as needed
preparation method
1. soak rice , urad dhal and fenu greek for minimum 3 hours and grind to a smooth paste. Then add salt to taste. ( the consistency should be thicker than idly dosa batter )
2. set this aside for 3 to 4 hours.
3. At the moment you are going to make then add cooking soda and grated coconuts and mix well .
4. Then make a syrup with the jaggery and mix the syrup to the flour and wait for 10 minutes.
5. Heat the paniyaram pan and grease it with ghee or oil ( or you can mix and use both )
6. pour the batter careful in each hollow and cook in low flame.
7. Then turn and cook for another 2 minutes or till golden brown
sweet and coconut flavoured paniyaram is ready to serve . Enjoy it with a cup of coffee or tea !
