Ingredients :
1. Aval ( poha ) ---- 1 cup ( thin aval )
2. green chillies ---- 2 nos ( cut length wise )
3. carrot ---- 1 no ( diced )
4. green peas ---- 4 tablespoons
5. cabbage ---- 25 grams
6. french beans ---- 6 nos ( cut lengthwise )
7. lettuce ---- 2 leaves ( chopped )
8. capsicum ---- 1/2 no ( chopped as cubes )
9. lemon ---- 1/2 no
10. mustard & urad dhal ---- few
11. curry leaves & corriander leaves ---- few
12. salt to taste
13. oil ---- 2 teaspoons
14. turmeric powder ---- 1/4 teaspoon
Preparation Method
1. Heat the pan , add oil and once its hot add the mustard & urad dhal & curry leaves.
2. Then add chopped cabbage , beans , lettuce , green peas , carrot , green chillies and add little salt to it and fry this for half cook.
3. Now wash the poha and drain the excess water and add this to the fried vegetables.
4. Then add chopped capcicum , lemon juice and little salt to taste , and stir carefully at low heat , so that the grains are not broken. Add the chopped coriander leaves, just before switching off the stove.
Now serve hot with coconut chutney or with curd & pickle.
{ Note }
* Even the thick Red poha we can use for this recipe.
* If the poha is left in water for a longer time , the poha will become soggy , and the final result will not be upma , but a big lump of junk: ).
