Sommbu chutney

Ingredients :

1.       grated    coconut                                     ---- 1/2 cup ( teacup )

2.       green chillies                                            ---- 6 nos

3.       Khus khus /  poppy seeds                       ---- 1 tablespoon

4.      Aniseeds  /   sommbu                               ---- 1 tablespoon

5.      pottu kadalai                                            ---- 1 tablespoon

6.      salt  to  taste

7.     small onions                                              ---- 1/4 teacup  ( chopped )

8.     Mustard  &  urad dhal                              ---- 1/2 teaspoon

9.     curry leaves        few

10.    oil                                                           ---- 1/2 teaspoon

Preparation  Method


1.        Take    a   mixer   jar      and   then   add   grated     coconut ,     green chillies ,    poppy seeds ,

            Aniseeds ,     pottukadalai ,    salt  to  taste       and   grind   it  to  a     smooth     paste    adding

            water      to  it .

2.        Then      heat   a  pan   with     1/2 teaspoon   of   oil   to  it ,     then   add  mustard   &  urad dhal ,

            curry leaves      and      chopped      small    onion       and      fry   it   till   the    onion   is   half cook .

3.         Then      add       the     grinded  ingredients       and     allow     this   to  boil      for    1  to  2 minute,

             then  put-off      the  flame.

Serve     this     sommbu   chutney     for  Iddly      and      any   kind     of   dosa    variety    and     it

even     goes    good   for   puris .
