Ingredients :
1. Karunai kilangu ---- 1/4 kg
2. Big onion ---- 1 nos ( chopped finely )
3. green chillies ---- 3 nos ( chopped finely )
4. Tamarind ---- small pebble size
5. Tomato ---- 1 no ( chopped finely )
6. Turmeric powder ---- 1/4 teaspoon
7. Red chilli powder ---- 3/4 teaspoon
8. salt to taste
9. oil ---- 1 teaspoon
10. mustard & urad dhal ---- 1/4 teaspoon
11. curry leaves ---- few
Preparation Method
1. Wash and boil karunai kizhangu in a pressure cooker for 3 whistle. Then cool
it and peel the skin and mash them to a smooth paste without lumps .
2. Soak tamarind in water.
3. Now heat a pan with oil and add mustard & urad dhal , curry leaves and wait till
it splitters.
4. Then add chopped onions , chopped green chillies and chopped tomatoes and fry
this for 1 to 2 mintues.
5. Then add tamarind water , turmeric powder , red chilli powder , salt to taste and
3 to 4 tablespoons of water and allow this to boil for 2 mintue.
6. Then add the boiled & mashed karunai kilangu and stir this in very low flame for
7 to 8 mintues.
7. When the masiyal is thick enough then put off the flame and transfer it to a bowl.
Serve this with hot rice & ghee . It also goes good with sambar rice & curd rice.
* It is very good for stomach problems , motion problems , constipation problems,
and piles.
