Ingredients:
1. crab ---- 1/2 kg
2. pepper powder ---- 1/2 teaspoon
3. Tomatoes ---- 2 nos ( chopped )
4. Red chilli powder ---- 2 teaspoons
5. small onions ---- 20 nos ( chopped )
6. Jeera powder ---- 1/2 teaspoon
7. Turmeric powder ---- 1/4 teaspoon
8. coriander powder ---- 1/2 teaspoon
9. salt to taste
10. ginger & garlic paste ---- 1/2 teaspoon
11. grated coconut ---- 1 tablespoon
12. Jeera ---- 1 teaspoon
13. mustard ---- 1/4 teaspoon
14. oil ---- 1 teaspoon
Preparation Method
1. Clean and wash the crab.
2. Grind jeera and coconut as a paste.
3.. Heat a kadai with 1 teaspoon of oil in it , then add mustard and jeera powder , then add ginger & garlic paste , then add chopped onions and fry it till light brown.
4. Then add chopped tomatoes , pepper powder and cleaned crabs and fry for 3 to 4 minutes.
5. Then add turmeric powder , coriander powder , red chilli powder and salt to taste and grinded coconut paste and add 1 cup of water and close the kadai with a lid and cook in low flame till 10 to 15 minutes.
6. When it is cooked and dry roast then put-off the flame.
Serve this as a side for Rice.
* A different method of this would be , instread of chilli powder green chillies 10 nos , jeera 1 teaspoon, and grated coconut 1 tablespoon to be grinded and add.
*. If you need this as a gravy then add 4 tablespoon of grated coconut while grinding.
* 1/2 kg of crab roast can be serve to 4 to 5 persons.
My daughter loves crab ever since she was a kid whenever crab was in season I use to make crab recipes. my daughter ate and ate , cracking the crabs making all the weird noise and making a huge mess. Even now this crab eating style of her has'nt changed . She still make a huge mess while eating crab you really have to eat it in a messy style , that's when you ' ve enjoyed it completely.
