Chow- Chow Curry


                                       Chow - Chow    is   also   called   as   sheema kathrikka ,    Bangalore  kathrikka   etc.....  Here    is   a    picture   of   how   it   looks   like.



Ingredients :

1.         chow - chow                                                   ---- 1 nos

2.         Red  chillies                                                     ---- 2 nos

3.         Roasted  peanuts                                            ---- 1  to  2  tablespoons

4.         salt  to  taste

5.         oil                                                                  ---- 1/2 teaspoon

6.         jeera                                                              ---- 1/4 teaspoon

7.         dry  coriander  seeds                                     ---- 1/4 teaspoon

8.          grated  coconut                                             ---- 1 tablespoon

9.          mustard                                                          ---- few

10.        curry   leaves                                                  ---- few

11.        small  onions                                                   ----- 4 nos  (  chopped )

Preparation  Method

1.          Remove   the  skin    and    crush     the  peanuts      and   keep   it  aside.

2.          Cut    chow chow    into   small   cube    shape.

3.          grind    red  chillies ,      jeera ,     dry   coriander  seeds      and    grated   coconut   altogether to a smooth  paste.

4.          Now     heat   a   pressure    cooker    and   add    grinded  paste ,    chopped   chow chow  ,      salt  to  taste        and    1/4 cup    of   water    and   pressure   cook    it   for   1  whistle.

5.         Now      heat    a   kadai     with   1/4  teaspoon    of   oil ,      then    add     mustard ,     curry  leaves     and   chopped    onions ,      then  add    boiled   chow chow   gravy      and    crushed    peanuts     and    allow    this    to   boil .

6.         When     the    curry    is    thick   and    all   the   water   evaporates    from   it ,    then    put - off     the    flame     and    transfer   it   to  a   bowl.


Serve   this  for  curd  rice.
