The beet greens have a light bitter taste but it contains high amount of iron . Beet greens also contain calcium , magnesium, phosphorus and sodium. This goes to my event " Best out of waste"
Ingredients:
1. Beet greens ---- chopped 3 cups
2. Soaked moong dhal ---- 1/4 cup
3. Grated coconut ---- 2 tablespoon
4. Chopped small onions ----1/4 cup
5. Red chilli powder ----1/2 teaspoon
6. Salt to taste
7. Oil ----1 teaspoon
8. mustard & urad dhal ---- 1/2 teaspoon
Preparation Method
1. Heat a kadai add 1 teaspoon of oil to it and then season it with mustard and urad dhal, then add chopped onions, chopped beet greens , salt to taste , chilli powder and soaked moong dhal and close the lid of the kadai and cook in low flame, for nearly 10 mintues.
2. When the greens are soft and cooked then add grated coconut and stir it for 1 mintue and then put off the flame.
Beet greens are beet root leaves.
