Ingredients:
1. Butter beans ---- 2 cups
2. mushroom / potato ---- 2 nos chopped
3. small onions ---- 10 nos
4. Tomato ---- 1 nos chopped
5. Red chilli powder ---- 1 teaspoon
6. coriander powder ---- 1/2 teaspoon
7. turmeric powder ---- 1/4 teaspoon
8. salt to taste
9. grated coconut ---- 4 tablespoons
10. oil ---- 1/2 teaspoon
11. cardamon , clove , cinnamon ---- each 1 no
Preparation Method
1. Grind the coconut to a smooth paste and keep it aside.
2. Heat a pressure cooker and add butter beans , chopped tomatoes , turmeric powder , coriander powder , red chilli powder and 2 cups of water and pressure cook for 1 to 2 whisle , then cool it and open the lid.
3. Now again heat the pressure cooker and add salt to taste, grinded coconut paste , chopped mushroom or potatoes, and bring to boil.
4. In a separate kadai heat 1/2 teaspoon of oil and add cardamon , clove , cinnamon , chopped onions and curry leaves , saute till the onions are golden brown in colour and add this to the boiling kulumbu.
5. when the kulumbu is thick enough and the potato is boiled then put-off the flame.
Serve this for white rice or with ghee rice , pulav or even with Iddly , dosa , chappaties , Roti , parathas.
