Ingredients

Tamarind                                                    ---- 1/2 lemon size
sugar                                                          ---- 2 1/2 cups
Boiling water                                             ---- 2 cups
Roasted ground cumin seeds                     ---- 1 1/2 teaspoons
salt to taste
Black salt                                                  ---- 1 teaspoon
Red chilly powder                                    ---- 1 teaspoon
Ground black pepper                                ---- 1 teaspoon
Ginger powder                                          ---- 1/2 teaspoon

preparation    method

Break the tamarind into small pieces and soak in boiling water for 1 hour.

Mash it into a pulp & strain , pressing the  tamarind into the strainer to remove all the pulp. Add sugar to the pulp and mix well. Then add the remaining ingredients and mix it and taste.

Add more sugar , salt or pepper as needed.

chutney can be refrigerated for two to three months.

serve this along with chat items.
