The green gram is one of the most whole some among pulses in India. It is free from the heaviness and tendency to flatulence. The green grams are rich in calcium , phosphorous , magnesium, potassium , folate and other B vitamin C.
Spouts contain an abundance of highly active anti - oxidants that prevent cell destruction and protect us from the ongoing effects of aging. When a proper diet of greens , seeds , nuts , vegetables and fruit is followed , a proper balance of acid versus alkaline foods is maintained. When the diet is heavy on the protein side , it results in acidity . Hence it is necessary to eliminate as many acid- forming foods as possible. Spouting helps to reduce the acid - alkaline imbalance which might occur when grains , legumes and other proteins are used.
Sprouts are best when eaten raw , because cooking always destroys a large part of their nutritional content. It is best to eat sprouts grow is very stable and can be frozen , or dried , for future use.
Ingredients:
1. Whole green gram spourts ---- 1 cup
2. Big onion ---- 1 nos ( finely chopped )
3. green chillies ---- 1 no ( finely chopped )
4. grated coconut ---- 1 tablespoon
5. carrot ---- 2 nos ( grated )
6. salt a pinch
7. black pepper powder ---- 1/4 teaspoon
8. lemon juice ( or ) vineger ---- 1/2 teaspoon
Preparation Method
1. Take a bowl add all the above said ingredients and mix well and keep it aside for 10 mintues.
. Then serve a bowl of this salad along with fresh fruit juice or any one porridge.
