Whole grains provide a lot of fiber and other nutrients. More over the horse gram helps to reduce the excess cholesterol from the body. By consuming horse gram to our diet for atleast 2 to 3 days per week keeps our body cholesterol level to an extent.
Ingredients:
1. Channa dhal ---- 4 tablespoons
2. Cow gram ( karamani in tamil ) ---- 4 tablespoons
3. White kidney bean ( vellai karamani in tamil )---- 4 tablespoons
4. Horse gram ( kollu ) ---- 4 tablespoons
5. Green Beans ( mochai ) ---- 4 tablespoons
6. carrots ---- 2 nos
7. Mustard ---- 1/2 teaspoon
8. Oil ---- 1/2 teaspoon
9. Salt to taste
10....Curry leaves few
11. Chopped coriander leaves to garnish
Preparation Method
1. Soak all the grains altogether over night and then wash and drain the water.
2. Grate the carrots and keep it aside.
3. Now using your pressure cooker boil the mixed soaked grains till it is softly cooked.
4. Now heat a kadai add 1/2 teaspoon of oil then add curry leaves, onions, green chillies, boiled grains and add little salt to taste , when all the water evaporates then put off the flame.
5. Now transfer it to a bowl and garnish with grated carrots and chopped coriander leaves.
Now you can serve this in a bowl with any one of a healthy drink. It is an ideal healthy break fast.
