Ingredients
- Mutton ---- 1/2 kg
- Big onions ---- 4 nos
- Ginger & garlic paste ---- 1 teaspoon
- Fresh pepper powder ---- 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder ---- 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder ---- 2 teaspoons
- coriander seeds ---- 2 teaspoons
- poppy seeds ---- 2 teaspoons
- Grated coconut ---- 4 to 5 tablespoons
- Jeera ---- 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala powder ---- 1/2 teaspoon
- Bay leaves ---- 2
- oil ---- 2 tablespoons
- coriander leaves / curry leaves few
- Salt to taste
Preparation Method
Clean & Wash the mutton
Chop the onions
Dry roast the coriander seeds and along with the roasted coriander seeds add poppy seeds, jeera & grated coconuts and grind to a fine paste.
Now heat a pressure pan and add 2 tablespoons of oil and add garam masala powder, bay leaves , chopped onions and curry leaves. Saute till it turns light brown.
Then add the mutton pieces and ginger garlic paste and saute for 5 minutes.
Then add turmeric powder, pepper powder, Red chilly powder and salt to taste and saute for 5 more minutes.
Then add the grinder-ed paste, few coriander leaves and add 2 cups of water and pressure cook for 1 whistle.
Serve this Mutton gravy for plain Rice / Pulav / Roti's / chapatti/ Dosa of your choice.
