Chow - chow is also said to be Bangalore kathirikai , chow-chow will cool the body so , for mouth ulcer you can consume this a lot.
Ingredients :
1. chow-chow ---- 1 nos ( small size )
2. Big onions ---- 2 to 3 nos
3. green chillies ---- 2 nos
4. salt to taste
5. oil ---- 1/2 teaspoon
6. mustard & urad dhal ---- 1/2 teaspoon
7. curry leaves few
Preparation Method
1. Peel the skin of chow-chow and chop it into very fine cubes.
2. Then chop big onions & green chillies into very fine cubes ( chow-chow , onion, green chillies every thing to be chop in same size )
3. Now heat a pan and add 1/2 teaspoon of oil , then add mustard & urad dhal & curry leaves , when it starts spluttering , then add chopped onions , chow-chow & green chillies add little salt to taste and slim down the flame and saute for 1 to 2 minutes and then close it with a lid & cook till it cook soft. ( no need to add any water to it , because chow-chow is a watery vegetable )
4. Then open the lid and add grated coconut and mix well and then put-off the flame.
Serve this as a side dish for R ice
