Ingredients:
1. Rice flour ----5 cups
2. Moong dhal ---- 1 cup
3. Butter ---- 1 tablespoon
4. green chillies ---- 12 to 14 nos
5. salt to taste
6. Jeera ---- 1 teaspoon
7. Asofotida ---- 1 teaspoon
8. oil for frying
Preparation Method
1. Wash and cook moong dhal with little water in a pressure cooker for
1 whistle . Then cool it and mash it to a smooth paste and keep it aside.
2. Grind green chillies and salt to taste to a fine paste.
3. Now take a bowl add rice flour , cooked & mashed moong dhal , salt &
chilli paste , asofotida , jeera , and butter and mix altogether well. Then
add little water and knead into a smooth and soft dough. The
dough should not be too stiff or too loose.
4. Then use a murukku press and press out circles.
5. Then heat oil in a kadai , when lightly smoke comes out off it , then
carefully invert murukku into hot oil .
6. Deep fry on low medium flame till it is crispy.
7. Then drain and cool down, store in a air tight container.
This murukku will be very crispy and tasty . It stays fresh and tasty
for 2 to 3 weeks. Enjoy eating this crispy murukku!
