Sundaikai in English we use to say Turkey berry . It has the medicinal valves for opening the appetite and relive colds. It is used to clean worms in the stomach & keep the stomach clean .
By hearing the benefits of sundaikai why to hesitate to by it , when ever you look for it , then start buying and cooking it.
Ingredients:
1. sundaikai ---- 1 cup
2. Small onions ---- 10 nos
3. Garlic ---- 6 pods
4. Tamarind ----big pebble size
5. Turmeric powder ---- 1/4 teaspoon
6. coriander powder ---- 1/4 teaspoon
7. Red chilli powder ---- 3/4
8. salt to taste
9. oil ---- 1/2 teaspoon
10. Mustard seed ---- 1/4 teaspoon
11. curry leaves ---- few
12. grated coconut ---- 1 teaspoon
Preparation Method
1. Spilt Sundaikai into half , then wash it for 3 to 4 times .
2. Chop onions & garlic.
3. Soak Tamarind in water and then drain the tamarind out of it..
4. Now heat a pan add 1/2 teaspoon of oil to it, then add mustard , onions , garlic , sundaikai , salt to taste and fry this for 4 to 5 mintues in very low flame.
5. Then add turmeric powder , coriander powder , red chilli powder , tamarind water and sprinkle little water to it and close it with a lid till it cooks soft.
6. Then add grated coconut and put off the flame.
Serve this with sambar Rice or with curd Rice.
