Ingredients
Baby jack fruit karipala cubed pieces --- 1cup
Thinai Arisi --- 1cup
Big onion --- 1no chopped
Green chillies --- 3nos
Red chilli powder --- 1teaspoon
Coriander powder ---1teaspoon
Salt to taste
Ginger paste --- 1/2 teaspoon
Garlic --- 6 pods chopped
Tomatoes --- 2 no chopped
Coriander & mint leaves full hand
Oil --- 2 tablespoons
Ghee --- 1/2 teaspoon
Garam masala powder --- 1/4 teaspoon
Preparation method
1. Boil 2cups of water And add washed thinai arisi and cook till it cooks soft and let this rice cool for a while.
2. Cube the karipala (baby jack fruit ) and semi boil this adding little water and keep this aside.
3. Meanwhile heat a heavy bottom vessel and add 2tablespoons of oil and garam masala powder chopped onions and garlic paste and fry till golden brown.
4. Then add mint leaves , coriander leaves , chopped tomatoes , green chillies , semi boiled kari pala and salt to taste and saute this for 2 minutes , then add red chilli powder & coriander powder and 1/2 cup of water and close this with a lid and allow to boil in very low flame for 5 minutes.
5. now add the cooked thinai rice and mix well and close with the lid and cook this in very low flame for 5 more minutes . finally add 1/2 tablespoon of ghee and mix them .
kari pala Thinai Rice Biriyani is ready to serve with any Raitha , i served with valai thandu raita it was soo yummy!
