Aval ( poha ) is made from rice which is beaten or pressed or flattened . It cooks very fastly. Aval is available in thick , medium & thin . You can use thick & medium aval for cooking aval recipes , the thin you can use it without cooking .
Ingredients:
1. Thin aval ---- 1 cup
2. Jaggery ---- 1/4 cup
3. Ghee ---- 2 teaspoons
4. Badam nuts ----- 4 nos
5. cashew nuts ---- 4 nos
6. Raisins ---- 4 nos
7. Grated coconuts ---- 1 tablespoon
8. Cardamom powder ---- 1 pinch
Preparation Method
1. Wash the aval 2 to 3 times in water , then drain the excess water in it .
2. Heat a pan add ghee to it and roast chopped badam , chopped cashew nuts and raisins .
3. Take a bowl add washed aval , roasted nuts , grated coconuts , grated jaggery , cardamom powder and mix altogether and keep this for 10 mintues , then it is ready to serve .
This is an easily digestible & healthy break fast for our kids.
