Ingredients
1. corn flour ---- 1/2 cup
2. sugar ---- 1 cup
3. water ---- 1 1/2 cups
4. ghee ---- 3 tablespoons
5. cardamon powder ---- 1/4 teaspoon
6. cashewnuts ---- 2 tablespoons
7. kesar color ---- a pinch
Preparation method
1. slightly fry the cornflour for 2 minutes .
2. Then mix water , sugar and cornflour together without forming lumps in a widepan.
3. Then add the kesar color.
4. Then heat a pan and stir the mixture continuosly in low medium flame.
5. After 10 minutes the mixture will start thickening and will have jelly like consistency.
6. Then add ghee little by little and stir for another 10 minutes until mixture comes off the sides of the pan and also becomes transparent and shiny.
7. Then pour the mixture in a greased tray and allow to cool and then cut into desired shape.
Now serve this delicious halwas .
Note
*Do not compromise on the amount of sugar , otherwise it does not taste good.
*After adding the cornflour mixture it is important to stir continuously to avoid lumps.
*Nuts such as pumpkin seeds , cucumber seeds and almonds can also added for extra rich taste.
