Ingredients :
1. Fish ( any variety ) ---- 1/2 kg
2. Tomatoes ---- 3 nos ( chopped )
3. Big onions ---- 4 nos ( chopped )
4. coconut milk ---- 1 1/2 cups
5. Red chilli powder ---- 1 1/2 teaspoon
6. salt to taste
7. oil
8. mustard & jeera ---- few
9. curry leaves & coriander leaves
For Marination
1. Red chilli powder ---- 1 teaspoon
2. Turmeric powder ---- 1/2 teaspoon
3. lemon juice ---- 2 teaspoons
4. salt to taste
Preparation Method
1. Wash & clean the fish pieces.
2. Now add the marinated ingredients to the fish and marinated it and keep it aside for 1 hour.
3. Then deep fry the marinated fish pieces and keep it aside.
4. Now heat a heavy bottom vessel and add 1 teaspoon of oil to it and add mustard , jeera & curry leaves.
5. Then add chopped onions and saute for 3 to 4 minutes and then add chopped tomatoes and then saute for 2 minutes.
6. Then add red chilli powder , salt to taste and add 1 cup of water to it and allow to boil.
7. When the gravy is thick then add coconut milk and boil it for 5 minutes.
8. When the gravy is thick in consistency then add the fried fish pieces and cook in very low flame for 5 more minutes. Then put off the flame and transfer it to a bowl.
* Serve this for plain rice or dosa or rotis
