Jigarthanda    is  madurai  famous   cool    drink.    It  is  very  nice  and  healthy   drink  to   have  in summer.   In   this   drink ,   I   used  jelly ,   you  can  even  use  Agar  Agar    or  grass  jelly   to  get  chunky  bites  while  drinking.    The    speciality    of  this  drink   is  nannari   surbath     and   thick  milk.    You   know    nannari  surbath   is  known   as  Indian    sarasaparilla,    is  a  wonder  herb,  with  its  natural  cooling  property.    If   you  don,t   have   nannari     syrup    you   can   add   Rose   syrup.
Ingredients :
1. Milk ---- 600 ml
 
2. Jelly powder ---- 50 grams
3. water ---- 1 cup
4. Nannari surbath ---- 2 tablespoons
5. vanilla ice cream ---- 4 scoops
Preparation Method
1. Boil milk in low flame , continue boiling so as to reduce the quantity to 300 ml ( half of 600 ml )
2. Then mix the jelly powder in water and boil it once it becomes thick , transfer it to a vessel and cool it and then keep it in fridge for 1 hour.
3. Take 2 big glasses , fill 1/2 of the glass with the chilled thick milk.
4. Using a spoon mash the jelly and add it in the milk glass.
5. Now with a spoon mix the jelly & milk.
6. Then add 2 scoops of ice creams in each glass.
7. Then add 1 to 2 tablespoons of nannari sarbath on top of the ice cream.
8. You can adjust the amount of syrup according to your taste , since use didn't add sugar , you can adjust it by adding more syrup.
* Tasty healthy jigarthanda is ready to serve.
