Researches found that people who eat nuts regularly have lower risks of heart disease. Nuts are one of the best plant sources of protein. They are rich in fiber, phytonutrients and antioxidants such as vitamin E . Nuts are also high in plant sterols and fat but mostly monounsaturated and poly unsaturated fats ( omega 3- the good fats ). So it is best to eat nuts but not add excessive calories to your daily intake.
Ingredients :
1. Badam / Almond ---- 1/2 cup
2. Walnuts ---- 1/2 cup
3. Cashew nuts ---- 1/2 cup
4. sugar ---- 1 1/4 cup
5. cardamon powder ---- 1 pinch
6. sliced Badam ---- 1 tablespoon ( to garnish )
Preparation Method
1. Dry grind, walnuts , cashews and Badam in a food processor or mixi.
2. Dry roast the grounded nuts in a frying pan on low heat ( approximatly 5 minutes ) till you get a nice aroma . Then remove from heat and keep it aside.
3. Now heat a sauce pan with 1/2 cup of water and sugar and bring to a boil to make 1 thread syrup.
4. Then put-off the flame and add cardamon powder.
5. Then add the roasted nuts to the sugar syrup and mix it, then spread it over a greased plate.
6. Wait for few mintues until burfi is set.
7. Then cut the burfi to any shape.
Store this burfi in air tight container and you can use this for 1 month.
note
* while the sugar syrup is ready then put-off the flame immediately , then add the nuts powder and mix well for 2 minute and then pour into the plates.
* over all it takes only 10 minutes to prepare this burfi.
