Ingredients
1. Raw Rice ---- 2 cups
2. grated coconut ---- 1 cup
3. red chillies ---- 5 nos
4. Tamarind ---- small lemon size
5. jeera ---- 1 teaspoon
6. Asofotida ---- 1/4 teaspoon
7. curry leaves ---- few
8. salt to taste
9. oil for frying
Preparation Method
1. Wash & soak rice for 2 hours.
2. Then along with soaked rice add red chillies , tamarind , jeera , salt to taste and grind it. adding few water to it. The dough should be thick. The paste should be as rava stage, then only the vada will be crispy.
3. Then towards end of grinding add the grated coconut and grind
4. Heat oil in a pan and when smoke comes out of it, then slow down the flame and roll the batter into balls and flatten them on plastic sheet appling oil to the sheet, then gently transfer the flatten vada's into oil and deep fry them.
Serve this puli vada while it is hot.
