Everyone knows that Badam are a virtual power house of nutrients. They are high in mono- un saturated fats which are associated with reduced risk of heart disease. It is belived to lower LDL cholesteral levels and promote cardio vascular health. Badam contains protein , fiber , calcium , magnesium and pottassium. They are also rich in vitamin E.
Ingredients
1. Badam ---- 1 cup
2. sugar ---- 1 cup
3. milk ---- 2 tablespoons
4. ghee ---- 3 tablespoons
5. saffron ---- 1 pinch
6. lemon yellow colour ---- 1 pinch
Preparation Method
1. Boil 2 cups of water and soak Badam in it for 1 hour.
2. Then peel the skin of badam . ( when you press badam it should slip right out the skins. )
3. Then grind the badam with 2 tablespoon of milk to a smooth paste.
4. Now measure this badam paste for 1 cup of paste add 1 cup of sugar ( you can raise the amount of sugar if you'd like more sweeter dish )
5. Now heat a pan and melt sugar with 1/2 cup of water.
6. Let this sugar syrup come to a rolling boil.
7. Then add the grounded badam paste and stir well to avoid the lumps.
8. Keep stirring this mixture so that it does not stick to the bottom of the pan
9. Add colour to it, add a few tablespoons of the ghee at regular intervals.
10. Keep stirring and cooking till the mixture gets slightly thick.
11. Then add saffron to it, then switch of the flame . The halwa will solidify a lot after cooling.
12. Then roll into small balls from your hands as you roll it. ( or ) otherwise fold it in a butter paper.
