Chettinad Chicken Chukka


Ingredients

Chicken boneless                                --- 1/2 kg ( cut into small pieces)
Onions                                                --- 1/4 cup (chopped )
Garlic                                                  --- 2 tablespoon (crushed )
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder                                --- 1/2 teaspoon
Chilli powder                                     --- 1/4 teaspoon
Freshly powdered pepper                  --- 1/4 teaspoon
Freshly powdered jeera                     --- 1/4 teaspoon
Red chillies                                        --- 2 no
Curry leaves & coriander leaves
Tomatoes                                           --- 2 tablespoon ( chopped)
Cinnamon / clove / cardamom          --- each 1 piece
urad dhal                                           --- 1/2 teaspoon
oil                                                      --- 2 teaspoon


Preparation Method

1) Clean & wash the chicken and drain the water.

2) Heat a non stick tawa  with 2 tablespoons of oil and add urad dhal, then add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom & curry leaves.
3) Then add chopped onions and crushed garlic and saute then till golden brown.
4) Then add chopped tomatoes , turmeric powder chilli powder and sprinkle 2 to 3 table spoons of water and close it with a lid for 2 minutes. keep in medium flame.

5)Then open the lid and add the chicken pieces , salt and mix it evenly and close it with a lid and keep it in high flame for 10 minutes.
6) Then open the lid and add pepper and jeera powder and saute them evenly and taste it. If you need adjust accordingly to your taste.( no need to add water , the chicken will woose out water and that is enough for boiling)
7) Then once again close the lid and cook in medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes.
 8) Finally transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves.
