I use to do fish puttu with sheela , vanjaram, neyyi meen , sura meen,....what ever it is with less bone.
Ingredients :
1. fish ---- 1/2 kg
2. Big onions ---- 5 nos ( chopped finely )
3. green chillies ---- 6 nos ( chopped finely )
4. grated coconut ---- 5 to 6 tablespoons
5. pepper powder ---- 1 teaspoon
6. lemon juice ---- 4 to 5 teaspoons
7. salt to taste
8. oil ----3 tablespoon
9. mustard ---- 1/4 teaspoon
10. curry leaves & coriander leaves ---- few
Preparation Method
1. clean & wash the fish and drain the water from it . Then heat a Idlly vessel and steam the fish pieces for 5 minutes in the Iddly plates.
2. Then remove the skin and fish bones of the boiled fish.
3. Then by using the mixer jar , mince the boiled fish. ( make sure there is no water, other wise it may mashed )
4. Heat a kadai and pour 3 teaspoons of oil to it , then add mustard , curry leaves , chopped onions , chopped green chillies , pepper powder , salt to taste , then add the minced fish and fry this in a very low flame approximately for 15 minutes.
5. while stirring add little by little of lemon juice , then finally add the grated coconut and chopped coriander leaves.
Now the excellent fish puttu is ready to serve.
